The hourly rate covers the aircraft and crew. The following items are billed separately and should be factored into your planning.
Positioning Fees
Flying the aircraft empty from its base to pick up passengers elsewhere — for example Wilson Airport, Nanyuki or a Maasai Mara airstrip — is billed at the standard hourly rate.
Park & Conservancy Fees
KWS entry fees and local conservancy landing charges apply per passenger and are billed separately. Private conservancy fees in Laikipia and Samburu are typically higher than national park rates.
Ground Standby
Multi-day excursions with overnight stays incur daily pilot accommodation and aircraft standby fees. These are quoted upfront as part of your itinerary proposal.
Good to know
- Landing fees, handling charges and mandatory passenger insurance are standard additions and can inflate the final invoice by up to 30%.
- For reference, KWS entry fees for Mount Kenya National Park are KES 800 for adults and KES 400 for children/students. Conservancy rates vary.
- We will always provide a written quotation showing the aircraft rate, positioning, taxes and third-party fees before you confirm.
